10TH LDS FILM FESTIVAL 2011
JANUARY 26-29, 2011 | SCERA CENTER, OREM

CALL FOR ENTRIES 2011

We invite and encourage all LDS and local filmmakers to participate in the 10th LDS Film Festival 2011 and submit their work to the festival. The success of the LDS Film Festival is a direct result of the quality and diversity of the work submitted.

The LDS Film Festival 2011 offers several categories for submissions: Feature Film Exhibition, Short Film Competition, Special Screenings, 24-Hour Filmmaking Marathon, and Screenplay Competition.

For more information, click here. Please carefully read the specifications for each category you want to submit your work in. If you have further questions, feel free to contact us.

BACK ON DEMAND: FEATURE SCRIPT COMPETITION

We are proud to announce that the Feature Script Competition is back! It was discontinued four years ago, when the festival initiated the 7-Page Script Competition to prove that good scripts could be made into great films for very small budgets. The winning scripts were selected by young filmmakers, who then made their favorite scripts into short films for a budget of only $500.

After successfully producing several award-winning short films, we feel we have proven our point, and it is time to return to the Feature Script Competition. Although we can't promise that the winning screenplays will be produced into feature films, we will present the three winning scripts to a number of producers with the hope that at least one of the scripts will be picked up for
production. Click here for more information.

10TH ANNIVERSARY OF LDS FILM FESTIVAL

The 2011 LDS Film Festival is scheduled for January 26-29, 2011, and will mark the 10th anniversary of the festival. It is also the 6th year the festival will take place at the historic Scera Center for the Arts in Orem, Utah.

The inaugural LDS Film Festival took place in November 2001 at the Provo Theatre Company. In 2002, the festival moved to the Provo City Library at Academy Square and stayed there until 2005.

After the second festival in November 2002, the event schedule was moved from November to January. Beginning in 2004, the festival also began premiering and screening feature films. Before its move to the Scera Center for the Arts, feature films were screened at the University Mall Cinemas in Orem.

Today, the festival enjoys strong support from thousands of visitors each year and from the LDS and local filmmaking community. Each year, the LDS Film Festival highlights a wide variety of different films and filmmakers. Besides the high quality of the programming, attendees also enjoy the vibrant festival atmosphere with dozens of filmmakers sharing their experience in a casual and friendly setting.

In its first ten years, the LDS Film Festival will have screened approximately 200 feature films and special screenings, 300 short films, and 400 24-hour marathon films, with a total attendance of close to 40,000 visitors.
