For our opening night, Peter Breinholt, Ryan Shupe, and Sarah Sample are performing together as an acoustic trio. These three artists have had a tremendous impact on the Utah music scene, and we are excited to have them perform at the LDS Film Festival. This is a rare opportunity to see them together in this format.

John Allred

A sound that ranges from Something Corporate to Counting Crows, John Allred has been spreading his music from coast to coast for the last eight years. He has released a total of six albums under the name Allred and sold over 30,000 copies independently. All releases effectively capture acoustic based songwriting and heartfelt lyrics. Developing an original approach to live electronics and loops has helped John stand out amongst other acoustic singer/songwriters. Allred has toured the United States from your average coffee house, to colleges and recently the largest arenas.

Ryan Innes

Ryan Innes has always been one for breaking the ice. From his newsboy cap to his bold kicks, his personal style makes him "fat and sassy," but it is his wit and boldness that will make you fall in love. His self-titled EP tastes like dark chocolate, smells like musk, and feels like silk. Ryan’s voice will dig deep into your memories and help you release emotions long repressed in a way that is new and inspiring.

Shantell Ogden

Shantell Ogden is the co-writer of "Lost," which has achieved airplay on more than 80 contemporary country stations around the United States. For more than 14 years she has faced blank pages and crafted sweet and savory songs. Shantell has toured nationally, releasing independent albums of her own, including Water Through Stone (2008) and Stories Behind Songs (2011). She is based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Corbin Allred

Corbin was born and raised in Sandy, Utah, and has enjoyed a career in film and television since the age of twelve. He is best known for his performance in the critically acclaimed film Saints and Soldiers. He is also an accomplished folk singer-songwriter and has performed all around the country. Corbin has worked for the Nashville Songwriters Association and has instructed songwriting and performance clinics for aspiring musicians. Corbin received a Pearl Award nomination for his work as a studio vocalist.

Jake Ballentine

Jake’s music is difficult to fit into any particular genre because his influences range from folk, rock, and country; to reggae, blues, and Jazz. He has been compared to Amos Lee, Jack Johnson, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Ben Harper, and Cat Stevens. Jake is best experienced Live. His interactive, entertaining, and engaging performances transcend generational tastes. Jake has the ability to connect with any audience of any age with his golden voice, creative twists on familiar covers, and instantly lovable originals. As a performer he strikes a fine balance of humor, insight, energy and personality.

Micah Dahl Anderson

Micah started writing music around the age of twelve and songs around the age of fourteen. His first band The Doors of Perception was formed in 1993 in Sparks NV. Since then he has not been without a band for longer than a year (even on his two year LDS mission where he started a band with other missionaries called Docs and Ties which rehearsed on P-days). In recent years, Micah has successfully written and performed music for film and television, including all original songs for The Letter Writer.
